Natural carbonation in bottles has two components:
The formula: Priming sugar = (Target volumes − Residual CO₂ volumes) × batch volume × sugar factor
Sugar factors per volume CO₂ per liter: corn sugar 3.61g, table sugar 3.42g, light DME 8.48g, honey ~9.44g (variable). These account for each sugar's fermentability and CO₂ yield per gram of fermentable sugar.
